Top prospect Owen off to Albion on loan

Highly-rated midfield prospect Owen German is continuing his development with a loan spell after agreeing to join Witton Albion for the next month.

An energetic, composed central midfielder, Owen took the eye of Alty's coaching staff from his early days in the Academy and has frequently been singled out by manager Phil Parkinson as one to watch in the coming seasons.

He played a prominent role in the Robins' pre-season programme of warm-up matches, underlining the potential that Phil and his assistant Neil Sorvel feel could take him a long way in the game.

As with any young players progressing through the ranks, a loan spell is a beneficial way of gaining experience of first-team action at a competitive level, and Owen has already spent time with Irlam Town and Wythenshawe Town in the North West Counties League.

Now a month-long stay in the Northern Premier League beckons with a Witton Albion side currently managed by former Alty central defender Ben Harrison.

"I'm pleased that Owen will be continuing his progression alongside Joel Bailey, who is already on loan at Witton Albion," said Alty boss Phil. "I'm sure he will continue to develop there, as will Joel, under the guidance of Ben."

All the best at Wincham Park, Owen, and we look forward to welcoming you back after a successful time with the Albion.
