The club can today provide an update on squad developments for 2025/26, with Justin Amaluzor accepting the chance to play in the Football League next season and James Jones, Eddy Jones and George Wilson also bidding farewell to The J.Davidson Stadium.

Justin joined us from Aldershot Town two years ago as a pacey, direct winger with an impressive goalscoring record, and we wish him well as he embarks on a new challenge with an unnamed EFL club.

"Since the moment he came in the building, Justin has been a consummate professional," said manager Phil Parkinson. "He's bought into everything we've done here, and it's pleasing to have identified a player with growth still in him who's now getting his dream move to the EFL."

Defenders James Jones, Eddy Jones and Matt Penney, midfielders George Wilson, Remi Thompson and Regan Griffiths and keepers Harvey Randle and Rob Lainton have all been released, and the club would like to thank them for their contribution during their time with us.

James, Eddy and George have been at the forefront of Alty's emergence as genuine Vanarama National League promotion contenders over the past two seasons, and a grateful Phil Parkinson paid a glowing tribute to all three by saying:

"Special mention from myself for James, Eddy and George. All three have been fantastic servants to the club and, more importantly. to myself.

"Brilliant players, all three if them, and brilliant people. They will be sorely missed by myself and the football club moving forward."

On the retained list, as things stand, are Tom Crawford, Elliot Osborne, Kahrel Reddin, Lucas Weaver and Regan Linney, who are all under contract, and Lewis Baines, Joel Bailey and Owen German, who have options in their contracts that have been triggered.

It is hoped more names will be added, as negotiations are ongoing with Lewis Banks, Jake Cooper, Olly Crankshaw, Tylor Golden, Matty Kosylo, Isaac Marriott, Alex Newby and Ethan Ross.

In addition, terms have been offered to two Academy graduates in keeper Louie Fallon and midfielder Remi Raymond.

It can also be confirmed that loan signings Caleb Anson (Norwich City), Charlie Olson, Brandon Powell (both Blackburn Rovers), Joe Nuttall (Oldham Athletic), Jake Bickerstaff (Wrexham) and Callum Dolan (Fleetwood Town) have returned to their parent clubs, and, again, the Robins are grateful to them for their efforts in Alty colours.
