Robins on the road again as we head to York - here's your match preview
By Joe Brayne
Altrincham look to extend their four-year unbeaten record against York City in all competitions when they travel to the LNER Community Stadium on Tuesday (7.45pm kick-off).
Just three days after an exhilarating 3-2 victory against Woking over the weekend, the undefeated Robins will be keen to improve upon their sixth place standing in the Vanarama National League.
A pulsating first-half at Woking witnessed the sides share four goals before Regan Linney’s second-half strike sealed the deal, celebrated by the 68 travelling fans who made the near-400-mile round trip.
Turning his sights to Tuesday's fixture, Alty manager Phil Parkinson admitted his in-form side are in for a challenging battle:
“It’ll be another gargantuan task for us because York have really had a go this season and they are a massive club," he said. “They have a great support and I’m sure it will be a real tough game for us. We (always) set up to make sure we are on the front foot trying to win the game and not just trying to stay in the game."

About the Opposition
York City, despite a winless start to the 2023-24 season, should not be taken lightly by the Robins.
In York's opening game, a late red card for Callum Howe resulted in a loss to Wealdstone. A header from their former striker Amari Morgan-Smith then handed Kidderminster all three points on Saturday, leaving York sat in 21st place in the league.
The potential of Michael Morton's Minstermen is evident through their impressive performances last season, which included an away victory against Chesterfield in addition to securing points against Notts County and Wrexham.
Our hosts' squad was reinforced this summer by the return of veteran goalkeeper David Stockdale, with the 37-year-old adding experience to one of the league’s youngest squads.
Afghan forward Maziar Kouhyar is the key player to watch on Tuesday, however, with the 11-cap international possessing an X-factor flair.
