RIP Jenny Heslop, you will be missed
Everyone at The J.Davidson Stadium is mourning the loss of Jenny Heslop after one of the most popular and well-known figures in and around The J.Davidson Stadium sadly passed away at the weekend.
Jenny and her husband George Heslop were both instantly identifiable as Robins stalwarts, George as a hugely-successful manager of the youth team for over 30 years and Jenny as the ever-welcoming dispenser of warmth and geniality, as well as drinks, behind the bar in the Noel White Suite.
We lost George in July 2020 and now Jenny has died in Wythenshawe Hospital on Saturday night after a long illness, and Moss Lane will not be the same without them.
Both of them were Alty through and through and both filled other roles as well as those mentioned above during decades of selfless service to the club.
George was matchday secretary. while Jenny was the AFC lottery manager for over 20 years, as well as running the club bar for over 30 years.
Always ready with a smile and a cheery greeting, Jenny also washed the kit for the first team and youth team and was an extremely popular person who devoted a large part of her married life to Alty and made a big contribution to making AFC the friendly club it is.
Everyone at The J.Davidson Stadium sends condolences to daughter Sally, a lifelong fan who also worked behind the bar for many years. A full tribute to Jenny will follow, here on the club's website in the next few days.
