ALTY aim to continue their playoff push in the Vanarama National League this Saturday (3pm) as they face relegation-threatened Woking at The J. Davidson Stadium.

The Robins (8th, 55pts) snapped a five-game slide on Tuesday with a heroic ten-man home victory against Dorking Wanderers in a fiery encounter. Defeat for the Wanderers saw Woking (20th, 41pts) leapfrog them in the league table and gain some breathing room from the relegation zone.

Although the Cards have underperformed this season, two wins in their last three games suggest that they are picking up form at a crucial time.

Hear from the Gaffer

Fans are our twelfth man: “I have received so many messages and letters from the fans. Mrs (Diane) Swindells if you are watching, I read your letter to the players before the game and that resonated with everyone in terms of how she felt - that was reflected in the lads’ performance tonight.”

Adaptability to grind out results: “We were under the pump (after Regan Linney’s dismissal) and we had to get a result tonight. There was no way that we were going to take any risks and be as expansive as we normally would. We were the team under pressure and we just had to win.”

Last time against Woking

Woking 2-3 Altrincham (Regan Linney 6’, 47’, Matty Kosylo 38’)

Last August – Alty registered their first win of the 2023-24 campaign, striking three times in fifty minutes to take the game away from Woking at The Laithwaite Community Stadium.

Matty Kosylo’s top corner goal was sandwiched between Regan Linney’s brace as a dynamic Robins attack knock off a home team that had been tipped for the playoffs.
