ALTY continue their busy 2024/25 pre-season campaign on Tuesday at the Ideal Building Systems Stadium, facing off against Cheadle Heath Nomads (kick-off is now 7:30pm).
With the upcoming season growing closer, preparations are ramping up for the
Robins and games are coming thick and fast.
Setting The Scene
Alty’s latest friendly came on Saturday, a 1-1 draw with Lancaster City at Giant Axe.
In comparison to the pre-season opener against Colne, Phil Parkinson had a larger squad at his disposal, with the majority of the first team squad making their seasonal debuts.
New signing Joe Nuttall registered his first goal for the Robins, in game which also saw a debut for another new recruit, Tom Crawford.
Tuesday's opponents Cheadle Heath Nomads have already played four friendlies in July - losing to Stockport Town (2-1) and West Didsbury & Chorlton (6-0) and beating Irlam (3-0) and Atherton LR (2-1).
Nomads are managed by our very own Academy Manager, Paul Fay, who began his role as first-team manager last summer and in his first season, herecorded a club-high sixth-place finish in the NWCFL Division One South.
Admission
Pay on the gate for friendly number three is £6 adults, £3 concessions and £1 under-16s.

Travel (from our hosts' website)
Rail/Bus | The nearest railway station is located in Stockport, with the nearest bus route to the Ideal Building Systems Stadium being the 11, 11a and 309 – all of which pass on Stockport Road, near the Farmer’s Arms, with the ground just a short walk from the main road.
Car | If coming by car, there are parking facilities at the ground for 50 cars, with limited on-street parking also available.
Travelling clockwise on the M60, leave at Junction 2 and take the second exit
towards Stockport (A560). Fork right by the Farmer’s Arms onto Edgeley Road, then turn right at the mini roundabout onto Birdhall Lane. Take the second right onto Cheltenham Road and then the second left onto Normanton Avenue leading to Norbreck Avenue. The ground is immediately to your right, located just after the
railway arch.
If travelling anti-clockwise on the M60, exit at Junction 1, then take the first turning
off the roundabout and filter into the right lane towards Cheadle. At the second set of lights, turn right onto the A560 Brinksway.
Follow this for approx. 1.5 miles before turning left onto Edgeley Road, then follow the directions above.
Any and all support for the lads on our first midweek outing of pre-season would be hugely appreciated. We'll see you there!!!
