Alty TV Post-Match | Alty 3 Braintree 1

Alty boss Phil Parkinson described his side’s home form as ‘superb’ and praised his players for their performance after a dominant win over Braintree Town in the Vanarama National League.
The Robins were well worth the three points at The J. Davidson Stadium this afternoon; Alex Newby scoring the opener after just eight minutes before he won a penalty which was converted by Regan Linney. Newby assisted Joe Nuttall for the third to top off a well-rounded performance.
The gaffer was impressed by the way his Alty side started the match and was delighted with how his defenders handled the Braintree forwards.
“First half I thought we were very good, some really good entries into the final third,” he said. “If the last pass was a little bit more accurate or the timing of the run was a little bit better, I think we score a couple more goals."
He was also elated by Alex Newby’s performance after he scored, assisted and won the penalty.
“Whoever Alex plays with, he's going find because he's the best in the division at assisting,” he stated. “He chips in with goals himself but that's his most valuable attribute to me. That’s why I would play him every week because he's the intelligent one, he's the unselfish one. He will come out this season on top of the charts for assists and key passes without any shadow of a doubt in my mind.”
With Alty having a lot of difficult away fixtures on the horizon, the gaffer had this message for the fans: “We need the fans to be fully behind us as they have, if we can get any form of away support like it's been showing then it's going to help.”
