He has been described as Altrincham's very own Yorkshire terrier by manager Phil Parkinson, and Isaac Marriott will be snapping at opposition heels again next season after signing a new deal at The J.Davidson Stadium.

Talks with Isaac have reached a successful conclusion, with the tenacious midfielder accepting new terms to continue providing the driving influence that has made him such a firm fans' favourite as the Robins head into another Vanarama National League campaign.

It's a further significant breakthrough for Alty boss Phil, coming swiftly on the heels of full-back Lewis Banks and central defender Jake Cooper.

There are more futures still to be resolved, but Phil broke off from his busy schedule of contract negotiations to warmly welcome the settlement that has been reached with his all-action central midfielder.

"I'm delighted Isaac has decided to commit another year to the football club," he said. "We all know what a strong player he can be in this division, and I'm really looking forward to working with him again next season."

Snapped up from Bradford (Park Avenue) on Christmas Eve 2021, the 25-year old from Huddersfield quickly established himself as a dynamic presence in the Alty engine room, stepping up to the National League from the division below with consummate ease.

He has had to contend with one or two injury setbacks in recent seasons but has overcome them with his customary steely resolve and is now setting his sights on channelling his boundless energy into another Robins promotion push in 2025-26.

“I'm really glad to get this deal sorted," he said. "I’ve had a tough last 12 months, but I’m delighted to be here again. I'm ready to put all the injuries behind me, and I'm looking forward to a positive season. I’ve loved my time here so far, so was a no-brainer to sign.”
