More Matty magic next season - and he's being eased into the coaching set-up!

Matty Kosylo has agreed a new deal that will not only guarantee Altrincham fans another year of his jinking runs and deft touches but provide him with a stepping stone towards a future in coaching.
Alty are delighted to confirm that Matty has joined the growing number of players to successfully negotiate fresh terms for 2025-26 and even more pleased that this latest contract breakthrough comes with an added bonus for both himself and the club.
First and foremost, the irrepressible Alty forward will be channelling his boundless energy into proving his attacking skills are as sharp and incisive as ever, but, at 32 and with an eye on the future, he will be given the chance to provide a coaching input at the Robins' Egerton training ground.
Exciting times for a player who has immersed himself in all aspects of the club since joining us from AFC Fylde in August 2020, and he made it clear there is nowhere he would rather be as he reflected on adding another string to his bow at The J.Davidson Stadium.
"I'm really happy and proud to be signing again and heading into my sixth season with Alty," he said. "I love the club, and I love working with the manager and Sorvs and with the players at the club day-in day-out.
"I'm so pleased that is going to continue, and I'm confident we can turn last season's disappointment into something really positive in 2025-26.
"Regarding the new role, I don't expect much to change day-to-day, as primarily my focus will still be on playing and pushing the other lads as normal. But the opportunity to be asked to take parts of sessions when needed and have access to learn the other side of the game from a coaching perspective is exciting for me."
Matty has been a crowd-pleaser all his career, never more so than in five seasons at Alty that have been filled with moments of individual brilliance.
Now, there's more to come next season, and Alty boss Phil Parkinson was delighted at the prospect, as he said:
"I'm really pleased that Matty has decided to commit to us for a further season. He is someone who reflects everything I expect of an Altrincham player, in terms of how they look and how they conduct themselves.
"He drives standards both on and off the pitch. He will have a dual role next season but will still be very much focused on being a player, rather than a coach.
"He still has that ability to change a game when called upon, and he will have a big role to play for us next season."
We're all looking forward to more magic moments next season, Matty, and all the best with the coaching sessions at Egerton.
