Loan Watch | Lucas Weaver hits double

Lucas Weaver was the standout performer amongst Altrincham’s loanees this weekend as he scored a dramatic brace on Saturday to rescue a point for Bamber Bridge against Mickleover.
After a goalless first half, Brig conceded two goals early in the second period and looked in danger of losing their recent unbeaten streak. Despite dominating the ball and creating several opportunities to bridge the gap to their visitors, Bamber Bridge headed into stoppage time two goals behind.
However, when all hope looked to be lost, Weaver stepped up and gave his side a late boost. A delicate chip over an onrushing goalkeeper halved the deficit in the 90th minute, and a diving header with barely a minute to play made the SFC Stadium erupt as the hosts got back level.
The point leaves Bamber Bridge 12th in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, with 15 points from their 11 games.
Elsewhere, Max Whittle featured in Cheadle Heath Nomads' thrilling 3-3 draw against Alsager Town. A slow start saw the Nomads faced with an uphill task in the second half as they fell to a 3-0 deficit in the opening 40 minutes.
With the help of Whittle and three other substitutes, however, Cheadle Heath pulled off a remarkable comeback to continue their fine form, where they have lost only once in their previous seven league games.
Unfortunately, Joel Bailey, Owen German and Witton Albion’s weekend fixture was not as successful. They faced Macclesfield in Emirates FA Cup Third Round Qualifying and were on the end of a 6-1 defeat.
Many thanks to Spencer Hayes Group & Darren Harrison (Lucas Weaver) and Ian Watmore (Owen German) for being player kit sponsors this season.
