LOAN WATCH
Round-up by John Edwards
In this new Monday morning feature, we monitor the weekend fortunes of those Altrincham players who are currently out on loan.
Liam Brockbank - Gloucester City
After injuring his ankle on his Gloucester debut, Liam has been receiving treatment back at Alty. He missed Gloucester’s 3-2 home defeat to Scarborough Athletic on Saturday but is edging closer to being able to resume his loan spell with the Vanarama National League North side.
Aidan Roxburgh - Ashton United
Aidy (pictured for Alty in a pre-season friendly) started again at right-back and got another 90 minutes under his belt, but it was a disappointing afternoon for Ashton, as they went down 2-0 at Gainsborough Trinity.
Ryan Morton - Trafford
Ryan was an unused sub as Trafford slipped to a 1-0 defeat to Macclesfield at Shawe View.
Harlan Rodgers-Morris, Josh Jordan, Ewan McGeady and Amaar Hussain - Alsager Town
Harlan received rave reviews for his performance and was unstoppable at times in midfield, as Alsager recorded an excellent 2-1 win at Rocester in the North West Counties League Division One South. He won his side a penalty when he was hacked down after turning brilliantly inside the area in the 14th minute, Sam Madeley’s spot-kick being saved by the keeper.
Josh again made a favourable impression in Alsager’s defence and crowned another superb performance with a goal-saving challenge in the second half that proved crucial to Alsager returning home with all three points. Dealt with a physical Rocester side’s main threat and looked comfortable in possession.
Ewan was substituted in the 70th minute, but only because he felt a slight twinge in his back. Again looked very solid in defence and was given a bit more licence to get on the ball, an invitation he readily accepted with some composed play in possession, not least when his pass set up a chance that Madeley fired narrowly wide midway through the first half.
Amaar missed the game because of a knee injury that is being assessed.
