It's graduation day for Academy ace Lucas as he takes his place in the first-team squad!

Lucas Edwards has become the latest Altrincham prospect to graduate from Academy hopeful to fully-fledged member of the first-team squad.
What a proud moment for the 18-year old attacking left-back, who has taken the eye at The J.Davidson Stadium since becoming the first Alty under-16s player to make it into the Reserves team.
Now he has the first team in his sights after stepping up to senior level and earning a glowing tribute from Robins boss Phil Parkinson, who has monitored how the youngster has progressed under the guidance of Academy manager Paul Fay.
"Lucas is another of our Academy graduates who has done exceptionally well and developed and flourished under Paul Fay," said Phil. "We are really excited to bring him on board with the senior squad.
"I see very similar qualities in him to those I saw in Owen German with regards to his work ethic, mentality, maturity and dedication, and all those attributes will serve him really well going into the full-time environment."
Paul Fay described how Lucas has become more of an all-round left-back since arriving at the club hoping to be accepted into the Academy three years ago.
"He came to us for a trial, and you could see from the outset that he was an attacking left-back more than anything," he said. "That side of his game was always impressive, but the work all the coaching staff have put in since has helped him develop into a very sound defender as well.
"He remains comfortable going forward, but he is also now confident in any one-on-one situation he might find himself in.
"I think Lucas was the youngest ever to play for the Reserves, certainly the first while still playing for the under-16s, and that's great credit to him.
"He did really well when he got his chance in the Cheshire Senior Cup, and he figured prominently in the FA Youth Cup run we had, when anyone watching would have seen the quality he possesses.
"He was very good against Warrington and Chester, and he didn't look at all out of place against Carlisle United - I can't remember too many times when a winger has got the better of him.
"It's a great opportunity for him now to go in and be amongst the first team, and it's going to be interesting to see how he fares and how far he goes, because he is a very determined young man who takes everything in his stride.
"He does things the right way and is very disciplined and committed, and I am sure he will do his utmost to make the most of this opportunity.
"I'm really happy for him, and I can only see him growing and developing in that environment, surrounded by first-team lads and being coached by Phil and Neil Sorvel."
Many congratulations, Lucas, and here's hoping you continue to thrive as the latest of our Academy graduates.
