'Twas the game before Christmas

Coming up on Saturday our final away game of 2024 - we head for Surrey to face Woking at the Kingfield Stadium in the Vanarama National League (3pm kick-off).
Setting the Scene
The Robins earned some revenge against Sutton United in our previous fixture with a 1-0 win over the Us at the J. Davidson Stadium.
Regan Linney scored his 14th league goal of the campaign in the 10th minute of the game, a goal which proved the difference as Alty denied the visitors from getting on the scoresheet. Altrincham have now lost only once in nine league games, earning 16 points in the process.
The Robins' excellent recent form has catapulted us up the Vanarama National League table, where we now find ourselves in seventh place and in a playoff spot. Our weekend’s opponents are currently in 19th, only one point ahead of the relegation zone.
After an underwhelming start to the campaign, where they find themselves under pressure in a relegation battle again, the Cards have replaced Michael Doyle with Neal Ardley this week.
They have scored just one goal in their previous six league games, but with a new manager in charge, the players will be looking to impress and kickstart their season.
The Gaffer
“The lads have been in and focused at training this week and are ready for the what the festive season has for us, starting with Woking on Saturday."
Last time against Woking
August 2024 – Alty beat Woking on the first day of the 2024/25 campaign at The J.Davidson Stadium
After an early red card to Eddy Jones, a screamer from debutant Tylor Golden gave Alty a slender first-half lead. Dale Gorman was then sent off for Woking early in the second half and Altrincham held on to claim a 1-0 victory.
