MATTY Kosylo has significantly bolstered Altrincham's attacking options for next season after signing a new contract at The J.Davidson Stadium.
The news comes 24 hours after key midfielder Elliot Osborne committed to a new deal and is a further boost for manager Phil Parkinson as a squad capable of launching another promotion push continues to take shape.
Attacking midfielder Kossy's creative influence and ability to unlock defences has made him a firm favourite with Robins fans after he arrived from AFC Fylde four years ago.
Fit again at the start of last season, after recovering from a knee ligament injury, he again provided a telling contribution to a campaign that so nearly delivered a place in the Football League, as Alty finished fourth in the Vanarama National League before being edged out by eventual winners Bromley in the play-offs semi-final.
He will turn 32 when the new season gets underway in August, but it was clear his energy levels and enthusiasm for the game, and Alty in particular, remain undiminished, as he said:
"I'm just over the moon to re-sign really. I feel good and strong, and I'll be leaving no stone unturned in the off-season to make sure I come back and help push all the other younger boys and help the group towards achieving what we all want as a club, which is ultimately promotion after not quite making it this year."
Retaining Matty's many positive qualities and ability to inspire those around him was always one of Alty boss Phil's prime objectives, as he said:
"Kossy has been a super servant to myself and the football club. He pushes us forward on and off the pitch, and when fully fit, he's still a force at this level and can contribute goals and assists. He knows his role in the team but has a steely determination to nail down a starting place in the Xl.
"His superb attitude acts as a standard for other players to follow. He is certainly a role model for younger players coming through, and he epitomises everything that this football club and I stand for. I'm delighted that Matty has decided to sign again."
