It's the return of Footy For A Fiver this midweek as Alty are back in Vanarama National League action with the visit of Maidenhead United to The J.Davidson Stadium on Tuesday (kick-off 7.45pm).

Our first league game of 2025

With the extreme weather conditions in the North West since the turn of the year, our last Vanarama National League clash came back on Boxing Day against FC Halifax Town at the J. Davidson Stadium; a 0-0 draw in front of over 3,000 fans.

Since then, a challenging Isuzu FA Trophy tie against Barnet followed a postponed fixture away at Rochdale. A goal for Joe Nuttall and a brace from Tom Crawford earned smooth passage into the last 16, where we will host Eastleigh at the start of February.

Our opponents, Maidenhead, find themselves just inside the National League relegation zone, only behind Braintree Town on goal difference.

The Magpies endured a difficult start to the season, picking up only one win in their opening 10 league games. However, a 2-1 victory over Ebbsfleet in September sparked a five-game unbeaten streak, and they have been picking up points with far more regularity ever since.

Last time against Maidenhead

August 2024 – In the first meeting between the two sides this season, it was Alty who came away with three points.

A James Jones goal in the first half of the game proved to be enough as Altrincham won 1-0 early in the season.
