ALTY aim to return to form in the Vanarama National League as we head to the capital to face Dagenham & Redbridge at the Chigwell Construction Stadium this Saturday (3pm).

The Robins (9th, 52pts) have been rocked by a series of injuries in recent games but now face one last road trip before enjoying a trio of home matches.

Although the Daggers (15th, 42pts) find themselves 10 points below Alty in the league, they will be buoyed by strong performances in February that included a 7-1 victory against Oxford City and a draw away to play-off hopefuls Bromley.

The Gaffer

Second-half resurgence: “The gumption and resilience the lads showed to come back after the break (is inspiring). Southend were very good, but we came back and played our way - which we looked scared to do in the first half. I saw enough in the second half to see the green shoots of recovery.”

Short-term pain, long-term gain: “We are trying to be very careful with returning first-team players. We haven’t rushed back the likes of Justin Amaluzor and Ethan Ross because we know that while it could benefit us short-term with the games that we have had, we know that (proper recovery) will help us more come the end of the season.”

Hear everything manager Phil Parkinson had to say to Alty TV following our 2-1 loss against Southend United:

Last time against Dagenham & Redbridge

Altrincham 1-1 Dagenham & Redbridge (Chris Conn-Clarke 80’)

Last August – A heartbreaking 98’ equaliser denied the Robins a richly deserved three points in their 2023-24 National League opener at The J. Davidson Stadium.

Conn-Clarke penetrated the Daggers’ defence to put Alty 1-0 up, however, the home side would be victims of the new extra time rules as Harry Phipps levelled the scoreline in the eighth minute of additional time.
