Aldershot 2 Altrincham 1

Alty were beaten at the death in Hampshire had Aldershot rallied for a goal down to claim the points with a 2-1 win at The EBB Stadium.

The game took a long time to come alive as both sides were full of endeavour without creating anything of note in the first 25 minutes.

The first proper goalmouth action came as the Shots broke from an Alty corner. Ryan Jones was sent in on goal, but Luke Hutchinson stood firm to make a fine low save.

Cameron Hargreaves shot over from the inside channel and Josh Barrett curled a wicked effort just wide as the home side looked to push home their territorial advantage before the break.

Within two minutes of the restart the hosts should have been ahead. The ball was worked left to right inside the Alty box giving James Henry the chance to strike, but the forward's effort flew over Hutchinson's bar from 10 yards.

The light pressure continued on the Robins' goal as Barrett hit two more efforts from range - one that Hutchinson saved, the other flashed wide.

Then what looked like the game-changing moment. Tom Crawford fed Olly Crankshaw down the left and the winger did the rest - jinking inside to challenges before hitting the top corner from 18 yards.

The wind looked to have been completely taken out of the home side's sails, but as time ticked away Aldershot got a lifeline when a Hutchinson wonder save from a long range effort fell to the feet of Hady Ghandour to tap home the equaliser.

Stoppage time brought more joy for the Shots when sub Tyler Frost took aim from range and gave Hutchinson no chance from outside the box, sealing a remarkable two-minute turnaround and the points for John Coleman's side.
