We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Colin McDonald, a much-loved figure in the football community.

A distinguished goalkeeper, Colin made eight appearances for England - including all four matches at the 1958 FIFA World Cup - and enjoyed a celebrated club career, most notably with Burnley.

Following his professional career, Colin came out of retirement and appeared for Altrincham in the 1964/65 and 65/66 seasons. Our condolences go out to Colin’s family and friends at this difficult time.
