Kyle's staying the rest of the season and Jake's doing the same at Darlo!
Altrincham are delighted to announce that defensive lynchpin Kyle Ferguson will remain at The J.Davidson Stadium for the rest of the season.
At the same time, fellow-defender Jake Cooper will continue to benefit from valuable minutes in the middle by extending his loan at Darlington and staying with them for the remainder of their Vanarama National League North campaign.
Kyle's loan from League Two Harrogate Town was initially for a month, but Alty will now be able to count on his aerial strength and committed approach for the remaining five weeks of the season.
It gives manager Phil Parkinson important extra options at the back as the Robins seek to finish as high as possible in the National League and keep their Wembley dream alive when FC Halifax Town visit The J.Davidson Stadium in the semi-final of the Isuzu FA Trophy a week on Saturday.
Alty centre-back Jake's loan was also for a month to begin with, but after he earned glowing praise from Darlington manager Alun Armstrong for stabilising their defence, it was decided to extend the arrangement until their push for promotion has been concluded.
Following a tighter, more disciplined defensive showing that answered Armstrong's call call for greater resilience at the back, the Darlington boss reflected on a 3-0 win over Hereford and said: 'I thought Coops was outstanding, man of the match for me. I was delighted for him and the back four in general.'
Delighted you have extended your loan with us, Kyle, and all the best for the final few weeks of the season at Darlo, Jake.
