Joseph's Challenge - Week's One, Two and Three

After announcing No Limits – Joseph’s Challenge at our End of Season Player Awards last month, here's what Joseph's been up to during his first three weeks of training.

Week 1

  • Total distance 10k; longest run 3k
  • Slow but steady start
  • Song of the Week “Don’t Stop Believing”

Ended the week with a trip to support the Robins in the play-off semi-final at Bromley with his Dad and sisters.

Week 2

  • Total distance 12.5k; longest run 4k
  • Stepping it up gradually
  • Song of the Week “Shut up and Dance” or should it be “Shut up and Run”!!

Popped into the club to film an interview with Alty TV and to do a training session with Alty's number one, fan favourite Ethan Ross.

Week 3

  • Total distance 15k; longest run 5k
  • Entered the Wilmslow ParkRun completing 5k without stopping and finished 219th in a steady time of 36 mins 49 seconds, just ahead of his Dad
  • Song of the week "Valerie" by the Zutons

Launched the No Limits - Joseph's Challenge GoFundMe page with a target of raising £100k for Altrincham FC Community Sports. The current total stands at an incredible £31,745 with significant pledges to come and one North West company already signed up to be an official partner and sponsor of the run – their name will be revealed next week!!!

Joseph also managed to squeeze in the North West Special Olympics Swimming Championships, winning gold in the 50m freestyle and 25m breaststroke and a silver in the 25m butterfly, before having a nice relaxing Sunday in the heat running 6k with his Dad in the morning and doing 90 minutes swim training in the afternoon.

For anyone interested in joining Joseph on his 10th and final 10k on September 1st, entries are open for the Altrincham 10k which goes right past the J.Davidson Stadium.
