It's FA Trophy last 16 time

Alty look to make it back-to-back cup wins this weekend as we welcome Eastleigh to The J.Davidson Stadium in the FA Trophy Fifth Round on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

The last 16 awaits this weekend

Alty bounced back from last Saturday's late salvage by Forest Green Rovers to prolong our stay in the National League Cup by beating Wolves u21s 2-1 on Tuesday evening.

The visitors took the lead through Ethan Sutherland in a competitive first half, but a red card for Alfie Pond shortly after the goal swung the momentum of the match firmly in favour of the Robins.

Alty were knocking on the door and regularly creating chances before a quickfire double from
Kacper Pasiek and Lucas Weaver fired Altrincham in front. Once ahead, the Robins never looked like conceding, and they held on to claim three points to climb into second in Group B.

Our next opponent, Eastleigh, flew out of the blocks at the start of the season, occupying the top spot for a significant portion of the early months. Since then, however, points have been difficult to come by, winning only three of their previous 18 league games.

To progress to the Fifth Round, the Spitfires overcame Hanwell Town in their opening fixture of the competition in December and Basford in their previous match in early January.

The Gaffer

They [the supporters] have been in fine voice home and away recently, and we need that again. Just because we’re at home and we’ve got a great home record at the moment, don’t ever get carried away with that – we can’t get complacent. We promote that with the players, so we need the fans to get behind us and be that 12th man.”

So far in the competition

It's two from two at The J.Davidson Stadium in this season's Isuzu FA Trophy after Macclesfield (round three) and Barnet (round four) were dispatched out of the competition, in front of an aggregate attendance of nearly 5,000 fans.

We now stand just three wins away from a return to Wembley Stadium.

Last time against Eastleigh

The last fixture between the two sides was only two weekends ago when Alty travelled to the Silverlake Stadium for a Vanarama National League fixture.

Goals from Alex Newby and Tom Crawford helped Altrincham on their way to an impressive 2-1 win on the road, propelling the Robins into the play-off positions as a result.
