Date for the Diary: End of Season Awards Dinner!

It has been some season so far for Altrincham FC, with the transition from part-time to full-time completed seamlessly and a vibrant team playing attractive attacking football before an ever-expanding fan base.

There's a real buzz of anticipation as kick-off approaches at The J.Davidson Stadium these days, and it's not just for the 90 minutes about to unfold. Looking further into the future, there's a sense the club have never been better placed to achieve their ambitions after ushering in a new professional era last summer and vowing to keep building and improving.

The inaugural campaign as a fully-professional club has been packed with highlights, with Phil Parkinson's side going on a 10-game unbeaten run either side of Christmas, including two eventful Isuzu FA Trophy victories, and rising attendances soaring to a peak on Saturday February 4th when 4,865 crammed into The J.Davidson, including 3,215 from Alty, for the visit of Hollywood-backed Wrexham.

That remarkable figure represented the biggest home league gate since the now defunct Macclesfield Town made the short trip to Moss Lane for a Cheshire League title decider back in 1968, and it was achieved despite the game being screened live to a nationwide audience by BT Sport.

There's still so much to play for, of course, but the club are determined to leave nothing to chance in arranging a fitting end-of-season occasion to mark our first year as a fully-professional outfit, one where everyone can come together and celebrate the Robins' continuing progress.

To that end, a date and venue have been selected for an End of Season Awards Dinner and tickets are already on sale for a glittering event you will not want to miss.

Make a note of the date: Sunday April 30th (nb. we've had assurances the final game of the season will not be put back a day!). It is being held in the Community Sports Hall, naturally enough, with doors opening at 6pm and the evening's programme of attractions, including a two-course meal, getting underway at 7pm.

There will be a complimentary alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink to greet you on arrival, and the schedule of entertainment and presentations to award winners will include a special announcement.

We're giving nothing away on that one, except to say the best way of finding out more is by reserving your place now at what is certain to be a memorable occasion for all Alty fans. Smart casual attire is the dress code for the evening, and tickets are just £30 each.

So, don't delay - buy now and make sure of your place alongside Phil and the players as all sections of our great club come together and raise a glass to the exciting new age of professional football at The J.Davidson Stadium.
