Spotlight on McHale and Co, valued partners in so many ways

There are a number of factors that have enabled Altrincham to go from strength to strength in recent seasons, and support from the local business community is right up there with the most important.

In the big-budget world of the Vanarama National League, finance has become an essential commodity for any club with designs on sustaining a challenge for promotion to the Football League.

Increasingly, here at The J.Davidson Stadium, the board of directors have been able to provide that requisite funding for manager Phil Parkinson and his assistant Neil Sorvel, but it couldn't have been done without the support and generosity of our growing list of partners.

The club are immensely grateful to each and every one of them, and as a token of our thanks and appreciation, we are highlighting each sponsor's business model in turn, on a weekly basis, in the hope that Alty fans will favour them with their custom wherever possible.

Today, it is the turn of McHale and Co, one of the region's leading law firms and proud to be Altrincham through-and-through, with offices in the heart of the town centre, where they have been serving local people and businesses for over two decades.

Professionalism, thoroughness and dedication are core values McHale and Co apply to all aspects of legal matters, and they also pride themselves on the personal touch, with a cup of tea and a chat awaiting anyone wishing to enquire about services on offer and whether they would suit their needs.

They are a law firm who care about their local community, as demonstrated by how readily they get behind the Robins, with their shirt sleeve sponsorship, advertising board, input into the Alty business club and ever-willing support for other initiatives.

We visited them to find out more and conducted a question and answer session with them that went as follows:

Q: It is a partnership that is greatly valued by the club, but how do you view it from a McHale and Co perspective, and how long has it been running?

A: It fills us with immense pride to be able to support our local club and be shirt sleeve sponsor for Altrincham FC. We are into our second season, coinciding with the club establishing itself as a full-time professional side, and we have been delighted to recently commit to a further two seasons.

When we were presented with the opportunity originally, it’s one we jumped at as we could only see it being a success, but the upward trajectory of the club and our partnership have exceeded all expectations. There isn’t a day goes by that a client doesn’t reference the shirt, or it's brought up at an event with other businesses, which shows the standing the club has within the Altrincham community.

Q: How exciting is it to be part of what is developing into a bona fide Altrincham success story, given the progress made on and off the pitch at The J.Davidson Stadium?

A: With the vast majority of the firm growing up or living in the local area, we’ve always known that the club has been a bit of a sleeping giant that could go on to achieve great things with the right backing/leadership, but what is happening at the club right now is remarkable.

Success on the pitch is one thing we all love to see, but it is the vision to be the best community club in the country that really strikes a chord with us. Being there for our local residents is at the very heart of our business, and it is these shared values that makes our partnership with Alty FC such a success - we’re beyond excited to see how far we can take it.

Q: Would you say members of your staff are genuine Alty fans? If so, do they talk about favourite moments or players or about the matchday experience in general?

A: Absolutely. Jack Wright from our award-winning Personal Injury team is a lifelong Alty fan and has been a season ticket holder along with his Dad since he was a small child. He has so many memories of great Altrincham moments, but he has a few that stand out for him, namely:

Gaining promotion to the National League, against Guiseley at a packed J.Davidson Stadium, and running on to the pitch at the final whistle.

Parky winning the Northern Premier League title, bringing the trophy back to Moss Lane and the celebrations afterwards.

Most recently, he’s particularly enjoyed the 6-1 win versus Solihull Moors and getting revenge on Halifax in the FA Trophy third round at The Shay.

Q: Finally, could you outline the range of services offered by McHale and Co, in the hope that Alty fans will make you their first port of call, should they need any sort of legal help?

A: Here at McHale & Co, we are a full-service firm, which essentially means we cover all areas of the law for both businesses and personal clients. As everyone’s circumstances are different, we pride ourselves on really getting to know our clients and being able to offer bespoke and tailored solutions for them.

We have been serving our local community for 23 years and are collaborative, progressive, reliable and considerate in the way we operate – values that are very closely aligned to those of the football club! If you are in need of legal services, please do get in contact with us. We’d love to welcome you at our offices on High Street and have a brew.

Alty interim chief executive Sam Mackenzie, who works closely with the club's sponsors and partners, underlined how valued the close relationship with McHale and Co is by everyone at The J.Davidson Stadium.

"The partnership we have with McHale and Co has gone from strength to strength," she said. "Our community values align and our mutual support in initiatives have had an impact - they are wonderful supporters of the club."
