Altrincham look to reach the First Round Proper of the FA Cup as we travel to the West Midlands to face Solihull Moors at the ARMCO Arena in a Fourth
Round Qualifying replay on Tuesday (kick-off 7.45pm).

Setting the Scene

The upcoming fixture has a very interesting dynamic, as it was only three days ago that the two sides faced one another in the first tie.

A Regan Linney penalty gave Altrincham an early lead on Saturday, in a first half that they dominated. Phil Parkinson’s men looked sharp on the ball and aggressive in the press; Alty’s 1-0 advantage at the break was more than deserved.

However, The Moors fought back in the second half and got an equaliser through a tidy finish from Bradley Stevenson.

The Robins are now without a win in their previous six matches in the FA Cup,
spread over four ties. Solihull Moors extended their unbeaten run in the qualifying
rounds, having not lost before the First Round since 2015.

If the game is tied after 90 minutes we'll play 30 minutes of extra time, followed by (if needed) a penalty shootout.

The Gaffer

“I’m desperate for the lads to take the shackles off and express themselves, but
there was a lot to lose, so maybe I’m being a little bit harsh saying that they’ve got to produce more.

“I’ll be honest, I wasn’t really happy with the overall performance. I expect us to be
far more front-footed, far more of a goal threat – I didn’t think we did that enough, but I don’t think they did either. I don’t remember either keeper having a great deal to do.

“A really tight affair, we got a draw, and I just expect to see far more from my team
and I will because they’re a great bunch of lads.”
