It's Aldershot next up for the Robins

Words Charlie Staples | Pictures Jonathan Moore & Sean Walsh

The Robins head down south once again this weekend to face Aldershot Town in the Enterprise National League.

Neil Gibson’s men will be looking to continue their good recent run of form, having won four of the last five matches in the league, including last Saturday's six goal thriller at home to Scunthorpe United.

Our Opponents

This week’s opposition are Aldershot Town, who find themselves in 23rd position. The Shots haven’t enjoyed the best of campaigns so far, having only won three of their 21 matches in the league.

With manager Tommy Widdrington leaving for Eastbourne Borough in October, former Accrington Stanley stalwart John Coleman has been hired to try and change our opponent's fortunes.

Top scorer and powerful target man Kwame Thomas (five goals), and creative midfielder Joshua Barrett will provide the biggest threat, with the latter accumulating nine goals/assists to his name this season.

A few words from Neil Gibson

"We've got to back the result against Scunthorpe up this weekend with a really difficult trip down to Aldershot.

"We have to ride the wave of momentum that we've got right now, whilst understanding all the hard work that underpins the results we've been getting."

Neil will be serving a one-game touchline ban on Saturday due to yellow card accumulation, so will be managing the game from the stands at The EBB Stadium.

Last Time Out

Opening day of the 2025/26 season at The J.Davidson Stadium and a 3-2 win for the Robins as Jimmy Knowles struck late to secure the points.
