This Saturday, if you are a primary school pupil, put the school bags to one side and shelve the homework until Sunday - an afternoon at the football beckons, and, what's more, you can watch it for free.
It's always the same at this time of year, isn't it, whatever age you are? Unmistakable evidence of autumn's onset everywhere you look.
A slight chill in the air, fewer daylight hours and the rustle of fallen leaves underfoot are among the most discernible signs for most of us, but there is another that the younger element will most readily identify with - Back to School posters echoing the same message in so many of our High Street store windows.
For some, the beginning of another academic year is greeted with excitement and anticipation, but, for others, it may take a little readjusting to after the best part of a couple of months of uninterrupted leisure time.
Either way, week one of term one is drawing to a close, and, as a means of saying well done one and all, we, here at Altrincham FC, would like to treat the area's primary school pupils to a special reward this Saturday afternoon.
We are sure you will all be ready for some recreational winding down, after a week of early-morning starts and studious concentration in the classroom, and we have the perfect answer in the form of FREE admission for under-12s to attend Saturday's Vanarama National League fixture with Ebbsfleet United at The J.Davidson Stadium, kicking off at 3pm.
All you have to do, apart from ensuring you are accompanied by a full paying adult, as is normal practice for games at Altrincham, is click here for a ticket (entering discount code ebbsfleet_u12 at checkout - maximum two per adult) and then start dreaming about watching the Robins in action - apart from when you are in the classroom, of course, when you must give your teacher and the subject matter your full attention!
We haven't forgotten about those of you who have a season ticket, either.
If you are an under-12 existing paying season ticket holder, we will be treating you to some free food at the Ebbsfleet game. We have a record of all your names, so, when you enter the stadium on Saturday, please make your way to the kiosk in the Community Sports Hall and identify yourself by saying who you are, and you will be given a free punnet of chips.
It's the least we can do after all the hard work we are sure all you under-12s will have put in during the first week of another school year - here's hoping we see, and hear, as many of you as possible at The J.Davidson this Saturday!
