Alty travel to play-off chasing Barnet on Tuesday night

By Joe Ward

Alty will hit the road in the Vanarama National League for the first time in February when we head to Barnet on Tuesday night (7:45pm kick-off).

The Robins come into the match on the back of one of our most complete performances of the season, after beating third-placed Woking 3-1 on Saturday.

At the heart of the action was new arrival Regan Linney, who marked his first start for Altrincham with a goal and two assists. Substitute Maxi Oyedele and Josh Lundstram also made it on to the score sheet to help see off the Cards at The J.Davidson Stadium.

Barnet host Tuesday’s match-up having lost their last two league games, with the most recent result being a 2-1 defeat to Torquay United away from home.

About The Opposition

Barnet, otherwise known as the Bees, will be desperate to return to winning ways on Tuesday as they fight to remain in a play-off position.

The fixture will be the first time Barnet have played at the Hive since the 28th of January when they beat play-off chasing Chesterfield 3-0. The London-based side possess the seventh-best home record in the table, despite having played there just 14 times so far this season.

Dean Brennan’s men currently sit in fifth place, having picked up 53 points from 30 games. Although they’ve lost their last two matches, the Bees previously went on an 11-game unbeaten National League run before losing 4-1 to league leaders Notts County just less than a week ago.

That purple patch began at our last meeting when goals by Ryan De Havilland and Danny Collinge helped secure a 2-0 win for Barnet at The J.Davidson Stadium back in November.

Nicke Kabamba tops our hosts' impressive scoring chart, which stands at the third highest in the league. The centre-forward has netted 17 times already this season and will be hoping for more on Tuesday when we travel to The Hive Stadium.
