Altrincham 6 Congleton Town 4
Alty made it five wins in a row in the Cheshire Women’s & Youth League, Premier Division, courtesy of a Holly Lloyd hat-trick and a brace from Elise Jones to take all three points on a sunny afternoon at Partington Sports Village.
After just 75 seconds, the home-side led as Amelie Heathcote got off to a dream start on her debut through a well struck shot from 20 yards.
Heathcote’s first showing in red and white got even better as the midfielder provided an assist for Elise Jones to double the lead midway through the half, making it an excellent start for the granddaughter of Alty legend Graham Heathcote.
Annabel Cross reduced the deficit for the visitors as her looping shot from 25 yards sailed over Caitlin Beaty. It was a deserved goal for The Bears as they were the better side for the majority of the first half.
However, this good work was undone as Jasmin Mellor needlessly pushed Ariella Shapiro in the penalty area. Lloyd confidently found the net from 12 yards to restore Alty’s two-goal advantage.
The goal action continued as Courtney Beeston and Lola Craddock brought The Bears level with two goals in the final six minutes of the half, to give the interval scoreline a fairer reflection of the play.

Two quick-fire goals from Lloyd and Jones restored Alty’s two-goal cushion for a third time.
Congleton fought back as Charlotte Booth bundled the ball in from a corner to restore hopes of another comeback, which were short-lived as Lloyd scored her third and Altrincham’s sixth to complete the scoring and restore the two-goal advantage for a fourth time.
