Altrincham faced Guiseley at home in the Under-19s National League on what was a typically wet afternoon in Manchester.
Guiseley were faster out of the blocks, forcing Dane Byron into a few early saves. The defence looked solid as Alty tried to weather the early storm, but Guiseley managed to capitalise and took an early two-goal lead.
The Robins didn't let this effect them, however, and they continued to play their own game. A Njie brace levelled the game, and Alty grew in confidence, flipping the game on its head.
Altrincham were dominating possession and patiently looking for openings in the Guiseley defence. Eventually, they got what they deserved, taking the lead before the break through Edson Cata.
The second half began with the home side kicking on from their positive end to the first half. Owen German delivered a fantastic ball into the box, and Adam Lynch was on hand to finish it off with a superb header.
The home side didn’t stop there, as Lynch pressed the ball high up the pitch before threading the perfect pass through to Loui Williams, who converted the chance in fine style to round off the scoring.
