We return to Rochdale

Alty return to the Crown Oil Arena for the second time in 11 days to face Rochdale in the Vanarama National League on Tuesday night (kick-off 7.45pm).
Setting the Scene
Altrincham suffered defeat in their previous National League fixtures, losing 2-1 away against Southend United.
The Shrimpers got the better of the match’s early exchanges and first-half goals from James Golding and Macauley Bonne saw the hosts head into the break with a two-goal advantage. Altrincham improved in the second half and got a goal back through a brilliant Regan Linney effort, but ultimately their efforts weren’t quite enough to earn a point.
Despite the defeat, we remain seventh in the table, having secured 55 points from our 34 games. Our next opponents sit just three points and one place below us, in eighth.
Rochdale endured a difficult spell at the start of 2025, winning just one of their first eight games, but they have since turned this bad run around, winning their previous three in all competitions.
Dale have conceded the fewest goals in the National League this season, proving the difficulty of the task ahead for Alty.
Phil Parkinson on this weekend's challenge
“If we do drop out of the playoffs at any point, I know we’ll bounce back. Everyone wrote us off after Dagenham & Redbridge last year, and we were firmly in there come the end.
"So, believe in us, and hopefully, if you can continue on the journey, you’ll get your just rewards at the end.”
Earlier this season
March 2025 – Our previous fixture against Rochdale came less than two weeks ago, as we faced the Dale in the Isuzu FA Trophy quarter-finals in front over 1,000 travelling supporters.
Jay Bird and Tarryn Allarakhia each scored a goal in the first half, and despite applying heaps of pressure throughout the second period, Altrincham were unable to break through the Rochdale defence, eventually going down 2-0.
