We are pleased to announce the appointment of three new volunteer media officers for the 2026/27 season, as part of an expanded media team at The J.Davidson Stadium.

Tom Jolley

Tom has been a key member of the media team since 2023, providing TV match commentary on DAZN (live stream) and Radio Robins commentary on RadioAlty, as well as conducting interviews with staff, players and fans.

He has also earned widespread praise and respect for his work in creating and broadcasting 100 episodes of his ‘Soundtrack to Sport’ programme on RadioAlty.

Tom, who is a Manchester United fan, has recently graduated with a First Class Degree in Sports Journalism at Lancaster University (UA92).

Ben Edwards

Ben spent more than three seasons as Media Manager at Bridlington Town FC, before joining our media team in September 2025, providing Radio Robins commentary on RadioAlty and Live-Stream TV commentary on DAZN, as well as conducting post-match interviews.

Within a month of joining, Ben was appointed as Altrincham FC Women Media Officer, a position he has excelled in and which he will continue to fulfil this season.

Ben’s broadcast experience at Altrincham enabled him to land a role with Alan March Sport Group, providing commentary for Wrexham AFC home games for supporters in the stadium who are blind or visually impaired.

Ben, who supports Wrexham AFC, will start his final year at UCFB (University Campus of Football Business) in September. He is studying Multimedia Sports Journalism.

Jess Barrow

We welcome Jess Barrow as a new member of our media team.

Jess, who is going into her 2nd Year at UCFB (University Campus of Football Business) studying Football Business and Media has 3 seasons experience at The Robbie Fowler Academy as well as working last season within the media operation at Chadderton FC and Morecambe FC.

Jessica has been a qualified referee with Liverpool County FA since 2023 and worked at Liverpool FC since 2024 as part of the LFC Fan Experience matchday team.

A Liverpool fan, Jessica also gained a Level 1 coaching qualification with The Football Academy Dubai.

Tom, Ben and Jess join Media Manager Alex Birch, Volunteer of the Year Jonathan Moore (Club Photographer), Club Person of the Year Mark Bennett (Alty TV) and writer John Edwards (editorial and match reports) as part of our expanded media operation, with a number of returning student volunteers - including George Allen, Alex Bartholomew, Ayush Bhattacharjee and Jack Worswick - also involved once more.

Long time Alty media officer Brian Flynn, who is facilitating the media officer induction phase through to the end of August, is also continuing as part of our matchday media team on Radio Robins, Alty TV and DAZN.

I am sure that you will all make Tom, Ben and Jessica, very welcome in their new roles.
