October's Business Club guest speaker announced - Andy Anson!
Just over two years ago, the Altrincham FC Business Club was founded, with FIFA referee (and Alty fan for that matter!) Anthony Taylor making an appearance. The benchmark was set from that point onwards, and the commitment to providing guest speakers of the highest quality has been extremely important to us ever since.
For that reason, we are delighted to announce that Andy Anson OBE will attend a meeting on the 27th of October as a guest speaker. Starting from 8.30am, members of the Business Club will be given the opportunity to listen and interact with Andy, someone who has had an extremely successful career in both the media and sports industries.
He was appointed as chair of Lancashire Cricket in November 2020, alongside his role as CEO of the British Olympic Association. Andy was appointed as BOA CEO in May 2019, following 9 years as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the BOA Board and took up his position formally in November 2019.
Before joining the BOA, Andy was the CEO of Goals Soccer Centres Plc, following a successful 6 years as President of Fanatics International (formerly Kitbag Ltd), a leading sports e-commerce and retail business.
Andy was previously the Commercial Director for Manchester United, on the main Board of the company, and was Chief Executive of the ATP World Tour (Tennis) in Europe, where he was also Chairman at the ATP World Tour Finals. He then led the England 2018 FIFA World Cup Bid as Chief Executive Officer.
Earlier in his career, Andy worked for The Walt Disney Company in Burbank California, in a senior capacity within the successful Consumer Products division and spent time at Channel 4 TV, one of the UK’s leading network TV companies as Head of Strategy and MD of Channel 4’s digital media business.
We are very proud to be able to host such an exciting event for the members, and this is only a small part of what is on offer to members of the Business Club. For non-members, find out more information here!
