Kahrel strikes late to down Forest Green in their own backyard

Forest Green 1 Altrincham 2

Alty made it two wins from two this Bank Holiday weekend as Kahrel Reddin popped up late in stoppage time to score the winner in front of a delirious away end.

The first half was an end-to-end affair, with the home side controlling much of the possession but both sides creating decent chances.

Josh Osude headed over early on and Owen Evans had to repel a fierce drive from Jayden Clarke as Forest Green looked to get a stranglehold on proceedings.

But Alty gave as good as they got, with both Tom Crawford and Liam Humbles going close and Aidan Barlow testing the reflexes of former Alty number one Ethan Ross.

Further pressure came from the hosts as the first half expired, but the only efforts either flew over Evans' bar or were dealt with in a routine way by the Alty stopper.

The second half came to life with two goals in two minutes. Jimmy Knowles' stunning solo effort put the Robins ahead on 54 minutes as his low left footed thunderbolt found the bottom corner from 20 yards.

Less than two minutes later Forest Green were level through their skipper Kyle McAllister who finished high from 10 yards.

From then on the chances were few and far between, with neither keeper really threatened aside from claiming crosses.

Then, deep into added on time, Kian Breckin attacked from the left side, fed Sam Taylor who cantered into the box and slung a low cross for Reddin to tap home, securing another three points for Neil Gibson's men.
