The club have issued a statement following Saturday afternoon’s game against Oldham Athletic.
We are aware of an incident which took place during Saturday’s FA Cup fixture against Oldham Athletic where a visiting Oldham supporter close to the segregation line was struck on the head by an object.
The club would like to make it absolutely clear that we abhor violence in all its forms and will take the strongest action possible, including pursuing stadium bans, for any supporters of either club found to have thrown objects across the segregation area.
We will be conducting a thorough investigation into this matter and would appeal to any fans who may have witnessed the incident to please come forward and help us to identify any perpetrators.
