Andy Duff appointed new CEO

Words John Edwards

Altrincham FC are excited to announce a significant addition to our leadership team after welcoming Andy Duff to The J.Davidson Stadium as the club's new Chief Executive Officer.

Andy, who has a huge depth of experience in marketing and commercial operation, joins us fresh from a highly-successful two-year spell as Managing Director at Rochdale AFC, where his input helped bring about significant improvements in commercial revenues and fan engagement and closer ties with all key stakeholders.

Previously, he was a senior figure in Everton's community operations, and, prior to that, he
led and managed all aspects of Wrexham's commercial activities, reporting directly to their
CEO and the Board throughout 2022 with a vision and drive that produced eye-catching
revenue stream increases across retail, sponsorships, hospitality and all commercial
inventory.

Andy's marketing skills were honed with the likes of global brands Kellogg's and Walt Disney before setting up a marketing agency in the North West, based at Station House in Altrincham for over five years.

He completed an Executive MBA in Manchester "CEO of a Sports Organisation" which is
designed to equip senior leaders with skills in governance, finance and strategic leadership
before branching out into football.

His arrival at Altrincham underlines the club's determination to continue the strong
progress established by outgoing CEO Sam Mackenzie, and he was greeted warmly by
Chairman Mark Luby, who said: "It is a great coup for us to have a man of his experience joining us, when you look at some of the clubs he has worked for, and I am really delighted to welcome him to Altrincham. I am looking forward to working with him in the future and to continue taking the club forward."

With another Enterprise National League campaign having drawn to a close and thoughts
turning to next season, Andy's start date of June 1st, in just over a fortnight, could hardly be better timed.

“I’m delighted to be joining Altrincham Football Club at such an exciting time in the club’s
journey," he said. "There is already a really strong foundation in place thanks to the work of Sam and everyone connected with the club over recent years, and I’m looking forward to building on that alongside the Board, staff, supporters and volunteers.

"Altrincham is a club with huge potential both on and off the pitch. The ambition here is clear, but just as importantly there is a genuine community feel and togetherness around the football club that really stood out to me.

"I hope my experience from elsewhere in the game can help support the next stage of that
growth as we continue striving towards the EFL."

Note: All senior appointments are now subject to the Independent Football Regulator’s ODSE assessment.
