Only a win will do for Alty as we look to keep our play-off dreams alive at the Shay Stadium, facing off against sixth-placed FC Halifax Town in an Easter Monday Vanarama National League showdown (kick-off 3pm).
Setting the Scene
Altrincham started the long Easter weekend with a heartbreaking late defeat against Rochdale at The J. Davidson Stadium.
The 2-1 reverse against another play-off rival leaves the Robins in ninth place, six points behind Gateshead in seventh and seven points off our hosts who have 67 points from their 43 games played.
Halifax have had another productive campaign and are once again play-off contenders. Having to deal with several injuries, they have won just one of their previous seven games, but their strong start to the campaign leaves them in a great position heading into the final stages of 2024/25.

“We need a win. We need to win the next three games, don’t we, and pray for a miracle.
"When you’re coming out the wrong end of 1-0 and 2-1 scorelines, if we were looking at an opponent like that and seeing the performances we are when we’re analysing them, we know at some point it’s got to turn, but it’s not turned for us, has it?
"All we can be is what Altrincham are – gritty, resilient, keep going until the end, be very together.”
Earlier this season
December 2024 – The previous meeting between Altrincham and Halifax this season came on Boxing Day, where the sides drew 0-0 at The J.Davidson Stadium in front of over 3,000 supporters.
Matty Kosylo was sent off at the end of the first half along with visiting manager Chris Millington, but Altrincham battled well in the second half to earn a point.

Admission to The Shay is on the day via cash turnstiles only. Prices are £22 adults, £19 concessions, £10 12-17s and £4 under-12s.
There is no Union Golf Road away travel for this fixture.
