Altrincham Football Club would like to celebrate International Women’s Day and, in particular, pay tribute to all the women who make such a difference with their contribution to the club's ongoing success.

As part of this, director Sam Mackenzie, Adele Hankinson, Allison Lewis, Sara Newton, Erin Carroll and Lou Dawson came together to take part in a round table discussion about the role that they, and women in general, play at the club.

In the 30-minute audio, below, the panel discuss the impact women have on football and the club, the environment and culture we promote and the opportunities for women in the game.

Whether it is Sam’s role on the board, Adele’s impact on developing events and hospitality hosted by the club, Allison and her amazing four decades of contributing to the club as a volunteer, Sara’s invaluable input in the junior and academy set-up, Erin's budding media career or Lou’s dedicated involvement as a sponsor of the club, there are so many women contributing to our success at The J.Davidson Stadium.

The recent passing of Jean Prince and Jenny Heslop only served as a reminder to everyone of the valued role women have played throughout Altrincham Football Club’s rich history, and long may that continue.
