Stephens is the marquee signing for Altrincham FC Women this summer, joining on a season-long loan from Women’s Super League side Liverpool FC Women. Confident and composed with the ball at her feet, Stephens is also an excellent shot stopper and will prove to be a valuable addition.

Williams provides excellent competition for Carmen Stephens and has developed well over the past 12 months under James Findlow’s coaching. She made her first team debut in the season opener last campaign against Nantwich Town Women, featuring consistently for the Elite u18 team.

Her performances for Spencer O’Connor’s side in the final month of the season were impressive, and she has carried that form into the start of the 2026/27 season for the first team when called upon.

Williams continues to play for Altrincham FC Juniors on a Saturday before linking up with Altrincham FC Women on Sundays.

One of the club’s longest serving players, O’Donoghue is one of many to have progressed from the Alty junior setup. Just as comfortable at left-back and right-back, O’Donoghue’s versatility makes her a key asset to Daryll Abrahams’ squad.

The quality of Moss’ left foot adds a different dynamic to the backline. Operating primarily at left-back, Moss has also played as a stand-in goalkeeper in the Women’s FA Cup third round qualifying against Stockton Town Women, following an injury to Olivia Kaleta.

Another defender that can operate in multiple positions, Locke is most commonly deployed at right-back, providing a threat going forward with her pace, power and crossing ability. She is also excellent as a central defender, possessing outstanding ability aerially and in the tackle.

Locke joined the Robins ahead of the 2025/26 season from Macclesfield FC Women, for whom she scored against the Robins in 2024 in the Women’s FA Cup at the J.Davidson Stadium.

A mainstay in the backline last season, Morrison’s formidable centre-back partnership with Ireyimika Bamigboye was a key factor in the Robins’ success last season. Confident in possession and often responsible for carrying the ball out from the defence to get Altrincham up the pitch, Morrison is a well-rounded defender known for her relaxed and calm approach.

Paulley joined this summer from Chester FC Women, where she featured for The Seals at ETC, reserve team and first team level. Comfortable anywhere across the backline, she provides an abundance of defensive versatility.

Signed as the replacement for the outgoing Ireyimika Bamigboye, Tickner’s ability in the air and physicality complement Brianna Morrison’s game very well. Her vision to switch the ball from defence gives the Robins the option to go more direct if needed. The 18-year old joined from Huddersfield Town Women.

A stalwart in Spencer O’Connor’s Elite u18 side last season, Bradley played mostly as a centre-back, though made her first team debut at left-back against Stockport County Women Development. She will be one of several players this season that will be utilised across both the first team and Elite u18 side.

After recovering from a long-term injury last season, Gilmore worked hard, bided her time, gained fitness for the Elite u18 team before earning her chance back in the first team. Following a number of impressive performances towards the end of 2025, she made the left-back position her own for the second half of the 2025/26 campaign.

Ash will be heading off to university in September, but is a registered Altrincham FC Women player and will be utilised whenever she is available.

Matilda joined Katie Locke in making the switch to the Robins from Macclesfield last summer, and also featured in that Women’s FA Cup game against Altrincham. In the red and white of Alty, however, she enjoyed large success in the FA Cup and was a pivotal part of the team that progressed all the way to the third round.

A deep-lying midfielder with a large passing range, Matilda is one of the team’s set-piece specialists and is one of many quality options in the middle of the park.

A product of Manchester United Women’s academy, Culbert captained the side at just 16 years old in the Women’s FA Cup first round tie against Penrith AFC Ladies. Another set-piece specialist with an impressive passing range, the midfielder’s only goal last season came away from home against Wirral Phoenix Women.

It’s difficult to assign a position to Lowe, as she can play anywhere centrally having featured at striker, central midfield and centre-back, often playing all three in the same game.

Lowe’s quality on the pitch is there for all to see as she has a knack of stepping up in big moments, with winning goals in the 2025 Cheshire Women & Youth Football League Challenge Cup and in last season’s second round Women’s FA Cup tie against Ponteland United Women.

The characteristics Lowe demonstrates off the pitch are just as crucial; she is an outstanding captain and role model for what is a young and developing squad.

Having featured for Stockport County’s academy in her teenage years, Lowe stepped away from football to pursue a career as a professional golf player, and now owns a golf strength and conditioning business.

Lowe returned to football and signed for the Robins having been inspired by the Lionesses’ Euro 2022 victory.

Daughter of Duncan Jones, Head of Women’s Football, and sister of Elise Jones, Ashley began playing football for Brooklands Dragons u7s, before moving to Sale United, where she was managed by Duncan and Elite u18 coach Timur Zakirov.

Ashley joined the Robins after a spell playing on a select team at Irlam in the Northwest Girls Superleague alongside many current Altrincham FC Women players. Capable of chipping in with a goal, the midfielder netted twice last season.

A key member of the Runcorn Linnets Ladies’ midfield last season, Tilston made the switch to the Robins following our trial period in June. A player described by Daryll Abrahams as having “great energy, positivity and leadership”, her experience at this level for Runcorn will undoubtedly be useful this season.

The Heathcote surname is engraved deep into Altrincham history, with Amelie becoming the third generation to represent Altrincham. Her grandfather, Graham Heathcote, is an undoubted legend of Altrincham FC from his playing and managerial days and has the honour of being a Freeman of the Borough of Altrincham.

Her uncle, Sam Heathcote, had two spells with the Robins and made a combined 46 appearances, whilst her father Charles Heathcote and his brother Danny were club kitmen in the early 2000s.

Amelie made her debut in the 2024/25 season and like Sam, netted on her debut. She featured mostly for the Elite u18 side last campaign, though did step up to the first team on occasions and has now become a full member of Daryll Abrahams’ side this season.

Whittam was one of seven players announced in July as having progressed from the junior setup to the Altrincham FC first team. The holding midfielder made her first-team debut in an impressive display against Wythenshawe Town Women, and will be utilised across both squads this season.

Last season’s Elite u18 Players’ Player and Managers’ Player of the Season, Lottie featured in the matchday squad for the first team last season. Her calmness on the ball and passing ability consistently impressed for Spencer O’Connor’s side.

Whilst she’s heading off to university in September, she’ll feature for the first team when available, for whom she made her debut against Bury FC Reserves.

Last season’s top goalscorer, McKnight netted six goals in the six Women’s FA Cup games last campaign. A striker that switched to right-wing during the second half of last season, McKnight’s pace, power, finishing and goalscoring ability make her incredibly difficult to defend against.

Progressing through the Altrincham junior setup, Kullu made the step-up from the Elite u18 side to the first team in September 2025, making her debut against Wirral Phoenix Women. She hasn’t looked back since, becoming a key player for Daryll Abrahams, operating on either wing or centrally.

Her first senior goal came in the impressive 4-2 victory over eventual champions Nantwich Town Women.

Unwin stepped up to the Elite u18 side from the junior setup at the start of 2026, filling the gap left when Francesca Boyle was called up to the first team. She did so excellently, providing an outstanding goal return.

This has been emulated for the first team this campaign following the departure of Boyle to Crewe Alexandra, netting two goals in the memorable 3-2 victory over Wythenshawe Town Women.

Formerly of Manchester United’s academy, Unwin provides a different dynamic to our attack being left-footed, with pace, power and finishing being her main attributes.

Member of the founding Altrincham FC Women squad in 2011, Walsh’s impact on the club since its formation can’t be overstated. A player who drives standards on the pitch and the training ground, Walsh supports captain Nat Lowe as the senior players to help guide the young squad.

Walsh briefly departed the Robins in November 2025 due to work commitments but admitted “football wasn’t the same not playing on the pitch for Alty,” before rejoining in June 2026.

Munt signed initially for the Elite u18 side at the starting of this season, having played under Duncan Jones at Altrincham FC’s Junior boys sides at u15 and u16. When called upon for the first team, however, she has proven her worth with some excellent performances from out wide. She also scored on her competitive Elite u18 debut against Stockport County Women u18.

Joining this summer from Mossley Hill Women, Barrett-Underwood is another example of a player stepping up seamlessly to first-team level, having initially joined up with the first team. Capable of playing centrally or as a winger, Shanai’s first goal was the eventual winner against Wythenshawe Town Women.

Elise, like her sister Ashley, started at Brookland Dragons, playing on a boys’ team at u8s before moving to Altrincham Hawks u14s, playing up until u16s, when she joined the Altrincham Women first team aged 16.

She played a key part in Altrincham Women’s first, and so far only piece of silverware, scoring to make it 2-2 in the Cheshire Women’s & Youth League, Challenge Cup Final against Witton Albion, with the Robins going on to win 3-2.

The attacker will dual-sign with Nottingham University this season, as she did last campaign, which was the first time Elise hadn’t been coached or managed by her father Duncan, Altrincham FC Head of Women’s Football.

Entering her second season at the club, Rutter is an excellent option at the top end of the pitch, who can be utilised centrally or out wide. Her most notable performance came in the Alliance Design & Print Plate, when her two goals fired the Robins to a 3-2 victory over Chorley FC Development.

Emily is starting university this year but is registered and will play for the Robins when she can.

Duncan was appointed Altrincham Women Head of Football in February 2024, in line with the club moving fully under the Altrincham FC name, having coached Altrincham Junior teams, for whom his daughters Elise and Ashley played, and the first team.

Alongside substantial footballing experience, Duncan brings valuable business expertise through his role as Managing Director at Philadelphia Scientific Europe and Co-Founder of enee.io.

Joining the Robins in July 2025, Daryll guided the Robins through one of their most successful seasons in his debut campaign, achieving fifth place in the North West Women’s Regional Football League Division One South and reaching the third round of the Women’s FA Cup.

A UEFA B License holder and UEFA A License candidate, with a BSc (Hons) degree in Football Coaching & Administration and a MA degree in Leadership in Sport, Daryll has held roles in International Programmes at some of Europe’s top clubs, including Juventus, Liverpool and Manchester United.

These, combined with Daryll’s day job as a Further Education and Higher Education Sports Teacher and Assessor provide a wealth of experience in player development, coaching and education that he brings to his role as Altrincham Women Head Coach.

Beginning his coaching career in 2019, James has worked with various age groups at several organisations. A UEFA B License Football Coach and FAW/UEFA Goalkeepers B Licence Candidate, James brings a wealth of expertise, currently working for Real Madrid Foundation, Liverpool FC and Salford City.

James has done an outstanding job at developing all of the Altrincham Women goalkeepers at first team, Elite u18 and junior levels, and is a valuable member of the club’s coaching team.

A UEFA C licensed coach, Anisa formed part of the coaching setup for last season’s successful campaign, joining alongside Daryll Abrahams’ in July 2025.

Bringing experience from Manchester United Foundation as a Disability & Inclusion Football Coach, Anisa’s vital expertise will continue to be an important part of the coaching setup throughout the 2026/27 season.

Will’s appointment in June 2026 bolstered the Robins’ coaching team for the 2026/27 season. He has worked with Daryll Abrahams at Manchester United Foundation as a SEND Officer, though Will’s most notable role has been with the England Amputee Football Association.

Assistant manager of the Women’s National Team in 2024, Will helped guide the side to a fifth-place finish at the World Cup in Colombia, and took over as Head of Women’s Football in 2025.

Will’s experience in football and in supporting players with disabilities doesn’t stop there, having held roles at Everton in the Community, England Transplant FC and Mossley Hill Athletic Football Club.

A UCFB Manchester Graduate in Football Coaching and Talent Development and a UEFA B Licensed Coach, Spencer’s Altrincham Women journey began in November 2024.

He took on the role Elite u18 Head Coach in July 2025, a first managerial appointment for the team and for Spencer personally. In their debut season, they achieved an outstanding second-place finish in the Cheshire Women & Youth League, U18 Premier Division.

Of equal importance, Spencer has played a key role in developing players to be ready to step up to play for the first team with Daryll Abrahams, for whom Spencer has worked with at Manchester United Foundation.
