Altrincham FC Women's Elite u18 side kick off their Cheshire Women & Youth Football League season this Sunday, September 6. Like the first team, their opening game is against the Hatters, with Stockport County Women u18 the visitors to Partington Sports Village for a 2pm kick-off.

A debut season to be proud of

The young Robins enjoyed an excellent campaign, finishing second in the Cheshire Women & Youth Football League, U18 Premier Division. Wythenshawe FC u18 were the only side to pick up more points and finished the season with 16 wins from 16 games.

Due to a restructure, Altrincham have been placed into the U18 Division East, and will be relieved to have found out they will not face the Ammies this season, at least in the league.

Pathway to the First Team

Alongside the success Spencer O'Connor's side had on the pitch, the coaching staff can be proud of the amount of players that progressed through to the first team.

That has been just as evident at the start of this season, with Toni Williams, Florence Munt, Shanai Barrett-Underwood, Tia Unwin, Mia Bradley, Frankie Fraser-Jones and Sophie Whittam all appearing through the first team's four opening competitive games.

In particular, the young players stepped up during the incredible 3-2 victory over Wythenshawe Town Women, where Unwin and Barrett-Underwood both got on the scoresheet.

Friendly for the First Team

After a busy August with four games in 11 days, Daryll Abrahams' side are without a competitive game this weekend, but will keep sharpness high with a friendly against tier seven outfit Wythenshawe FC Women Development. Kick-off is at 2pm at St Thomas More RC College.
