What a coup for Alty as Isaac signs on for another two years!

Key midfielder Isaac Marriott has handed Altrincham a massive pre-Trophy tie boost by accepting the offer of new terms and committing his future to the club for the next two years.

What fantastic news to bring everyone with less than 48 hours to go before Alty take on FC Halifax Town for a place at Wembley in the biggest game the Robins have had in recent memory.

Throughout an always eventful and frequently memorable campaign, Isaac's telling contribution as a tigerish presence at the heart of the Robins' midfield has been one of the abiding memories for admiring Alty fans.

The club's fanbase have taken him to their hearts for his ferociously committed all-action style, and what a timely and welcome shot-in-the-arm it is, ahead of Saturday's eagerly-awaited Isuzu FA Trophy semi-final at The J.Davidson Stadium, that we are able to announce he has signed a contract extension until 2025.

Speaking on an Alty TV YouTube Premiere that can be accessed on the link below, the 23-year old, whose move from Bradford (Park Avenue) was confirmed on Christmas Eve 2021, said:

"It has been a brilliant season, and really it was pretty much a no-brainer to pledge my future to the club. I enjoy playing here and feel my game has grown since I first signed."

At the time of his arrival from his native West Yorkshire, Isaac answered a question about what Alty fans could expect from him by saying: "I'm really energetic about the pitch, putting tackles in, and I feel I'm quite confident on the ball - I'm not shy about that."

He was putting it mildly. There can't be a blade of grass he hasn't covered in his 15 months in Alty colours, and his instant impact was reflected last May when he signed a full-time professional contract with the Robins shortly after being named the supporters' young player of the season.

He has gone from strength to strength, missing the first couple of months of this season due to a cruciate ligament injury but hitting the ground running when finally declared fit and ready for action in November.
His input has been a significant factor behind a Trophy run that has brought the Robins to within 90 minutes of a trip to Wembley, with Halifax the last hurdle before what seems sure to be a sell-out J.Davidson crowd at 3pm on Saturday afternoon.

See and hear what Isaac and manager Phil Parkinson had to say about the new deal and the semi-final, as well as listening to the thoughts of directors Mark Luby, Sam Mackenzie, John Coyne and Rob Esteva, in a YouTube Premiere that be accessed on this link:
