Venue switch for Alty's pre-season friendly with Stoke City youngsters
There has been a change of venue for Altrincham's penultimate pre-season friendly against Stoke City under-23s on Tuesday, July 26th.
The date remains the same, July 26th, but the game will now be staged at Stoke's Clayton Wood training ground and Academy centre, rather than The J.Davidson Stadium, and will kick-off at 3pm, instead of 7.45pm.
In addition, it has been agreed that the match will now be played behind closed doors.
The club would like to apologise for any disappointment caused to fans who had hoped to attend the game, but full coverage will be provided by Radio Robins, subject to permission being granted by Stoke. Also, anyone who has bought a ticket for the game will receive a full refund.
Alty launched their pre-season programme with a double-header at West Didsbury & Chorlton and Wythenshawe Town on Saturday and continue preparations for the new campaign at Trafford tomorrow evening (Tuesday) and at Douglas in the Isle of Man on Saturday afternoon.
Phil Parkinson's new-look squad step out at The J.Davidson Stadium for the first time against Vanarama National League champions Stockport County on Saturday, July 23rd (3pm) and have another highly-attractive home fixture to round off the pre-season programme against a Manchester United Xl on Saturday, July 30th (3pm).
It's then full steam ahead for Phil and the boys, as they embark on a final week of planning and preparing at Alty's new Egerton training complex in Knutsford, ahead of an eagerly-awaited National League opener against Maidstone United at The J.Davidson Stadium on Saturday, August 6th at 3pm.
For those that have purchased tickets in advance you can expect a refund to your original form of payment within 24-48 hours.
