ALTY make their long-awaited return to the J. Davidson Stadium as we
host Salford City in our first home game of the 2024/25 season on Tuesday
(kick-off 7.45pm).
As the opening weekend of the Vanarama National League draws closer, the Robins are testing themselves against strong opposition once again – the first of two teams in the Football League to visit the J. Davidson Stadium this pre-season.
Setting the Scene
Alty’s run of friendly wins continued at the weekend with a good 2-0 result away from home against Warrington Town.
For the second consecutive game, Regan Linney and Matty Kosylo provided the
goals to give Altrincham the win. Kosylo opened the scoring with an instinctive finish into an open net before Regan Linney won and converted a penalty in added time at the end of the game.
Tuesday’s visitors to the J. Davidson Stadium, Salford City, finished 20th in League Two at the conclusion of last season.
After reaching the playoffs in 2022/23, a disappointing start to the new season saw experienced EFL manager Karl Robinson take charge.
Robinson’s side have had a solid start to their pre-season campaign, winning games against Crusaders and Bamber Bridge, before their most recent friendly against United of Manchester ended in a 2-2 draw.
The Gaffer
"It's a real good game for us and I hope we get a good turn out. We've got to impose ourselves and our game on the match. We got a lot of players who could be playing at Salford's level.
"It's another game for us to get more minutes and work on patterns of play, set pieces. We're looking forward to it."

For this friendly, pay on the gate is available (cash turnstiles) and advance tickets are also available to purchase online here – tickets will cost £12 for over-18s and £5 for under-18s. Season tickets are not valid for friendlies.
