The Non-League season is now in full swing across the North West, as are our youngsters, with the games coming thick and fast.

Owen German's second loan spell with National League North outfit Alfreton Town began in earnest on Saturday as the midfielder started the Derbyshire side's season opener - a 2-2 draw at Bedford Town.

Central defender Joel Bailey has already featured in two NPL Premier Division games for Bamber Bridge, despite only signing for the Lancashire side on Thursday.

The academy graduate came off the bench during Brig's 2-0 win over Guiseley, and was again a used substitute in last night's narrow defeat at Warrington Rylands.

Lucas Edwards' impressive start in Irlam colours continued as the left back bagged his first goal of the season in a 5-3 win at Charnock Richard on Saturday, before making it five starts in just two-and-a-half weeks in another NWCFL Premier Division victory, 4-0 against FC Isle of Man at Silver Street last night. 

In the second tier of the NWCFL, Isaac Mannion came of the bench for Cheadle Heath Nomads as they hit three at home again, this time against Cammell Laird.

Second year scholar Max Beddow was once in goal for Barnton, but his side lost 4-1 at last season's play-off finalists Stafford Town.
