Josh Lundstram has left Altrincham to sign for Oldham Athletic after the Boundary Park club triggered a clause in his Altrincham contract.
The 24-year old midfielder joined Alty from Crewe Alexandra on a permanent basis last May after impressing on loan at The J.Davidson Stadium two years earlier.
He proved an instant success with a drive and level of consistency that was reflected in the end-of-season awards, where he was named player of the year in all three categories.
His form also had the inevitable effect of attracting admirers, and when Oldham met the release clause in his contract, his move to Boundary Park went through for the fee stipulated. The club would like to thank Josh for his contribution during his two spells with Alty.
Though his departure is undoubtedly a blow, the club are delighted with recent progress on the recruitment front and hopeful of being able to announce several experienced and proven new arrivals who will strengthen the squad in key areas by the end of next week.
