Flying Robins begin run of away fixtures at Huish Park this Tuesday
By Joe Ward
Alty are back on the road in the Vanarama National League for our first of six consecutive away matches when we travel to Yeovil Town this Tuesday evening (7:45pm kick-off).
The Robins will be looking to continue an impressive three-match winning run, following victories over Woking, Barnet and Solihull Moors, against a Yeovil side who head into the game low on confidence.
Alty were firing on all cylinders in our last outing, dismantling the Moors in a 4-1 victory at The J.Davidson Stadium on Saturday.
Two first-half goals from Tyrese Sinclair and another from Regan Linney had the Robins flying as we entered the break 3-1 up.
And there was little mercy for the Moors in the second-half as Jordan Hulme rounded off a perfect afternoon for Alty, scoring our 11th goal from our last three games.
Yeovil host Tuesday’s match-up on the back of a 2-1 defeat to York City, meaning the Glovers remain in the National League relegation zone.
Manager’s Views
Phil Parkinson spoke with Alty TV following his side’s 4-1 victory over Solihull Moors.
About The Opposition
Following a mammoth trip to Huish Park last month, players, staff and fans were left massively frustrated as the match was postponed just over an hour before kick-off.
However, Phil Parkinson’s men will have a second bite of the cherry on Tuesday against the Glovers, who haven’t won any of their last five league games.
Mark Cooper's side currently sit 21st in the league table, having picked up 32 points from 31 games. Despite struggling on the road this season, our hosts have been pretty impressive at Huish Park, capturing points off the likes of Wrexham, Chesterfield and Solihull Moors.
On Saturday, the club announced the signing of Josh Owers and Seb Palmer-Houlden on loan from Bristol City. The two Robins Academy graduates went on to make their debuts against York and could be part of the side that faces us on Tuesday.
Alty and Yeovil last met earlier this season in a close encounter at The J.Davidson Stadium. Despite going down twice in that game, the Robins fought back to earn a much-deserved point, following an injury-time equaliser from Egli Kaja.
However, much has changed since then and, if form is anything to go by, the hosts will have to work hard to keep out an Alty side which doesn't look like slowing down anytime soon.
