Alty fall to Slough in Emirates FA Cup First Round
Slough Town 2 Altrincham 1
Altrincham bowed out of the Emirates FA Cup at the first round stage at a rain-soaked Slough Town.
Alty looked threatening in patches for the first half an hour as Kahrel Reddin, Keaton Ward and Jimmy Knowles had efforts inside the box blocked by defenders. Elliot Osborne shot wide and Jimmy Knowles found the gloves of Adam Desbois as the half chances continued to fall for Neil Gibson's side.

Then, almost from nothing, Alty were hit by two goals in five minutes. The first was from sub Ansu Janneh, who swept home from eight yards after Johnny Goddard's corner to the back post had been headed into the midfielder's path by Reiss Greenidge.
The second came from the left wing as Tyrese Dyce hit the byline and crossed low for Wiktor Makowski to score from close in.
The hosts almost had a third just before the break, but luckily for the Robins the post intervened to thwart Jaiden Drakes-Thomas' long-range effort.
The visitors began the second half by testing the alertness of Desbois twice within the opening five minutes. Isaac Marriott saw a low shot held and Ward forced the Rebels' goalie into a fine high save.
Following a triple substitution just after the hour, Alty got themselves back in the tie. A ricochet off a defender fell kindly for James Gale who beat Desbois to halve the deficit with 25 to play.
The momentum looked to have shifted in Alty's favour, but as the rain cascaded down and the visitors pushed on in search of an equaliser, Elliot Osborne was abruptly sent off with eight minutes remaining for an incident involving Makowski.
The red card didn't deter the men in red as they poured forward. Matty Kosylo saw a strike blocked from close range. A deep Tylor Golden cross caused havoc in the Slough box but was eventually cleared and Knowles and Gale both saw half chances blocked by home defenders.
In the end the ball just wouldn't fall, allowing Slough to claim their place in round two.
