An update on away travel
The club would like to provide an update on away travel for supporters on the eve of the 2022/23 Vanarama National League campaign.
Due to the sad passing of John Rooke who kindly worked with Brian Flynn to coordinate away travel last season, we are now looking for another volunteer to step forward and coordinate on behalf of the supporters.
The ideal candidate will travel from Altrincham to the destination on the coach to oversee the list of supporters that have signed up for travel.
Additionally, it will require liaising with the coach companies and then overseeing the booking phase.
Anybody interested in volunteering should get in touch here.
Due to the increase in the cost of petrol, the fees charged will likely reflect that unfortunately. However, we expect it will remain the cheapest way to travel to follow Alty this season compared to public transport.
Last season, we had some money from the old TASC bank account which was used to subsidise the journeys, along with a number of directors and sponsors also contributing. The service still run at a significant loss however.
We will only organise travel if a certain number of supporters commit to travelling on the supporters coach. Looking at some of the initial fees quoted, we will likely need a minimum number depending on the quotes received signing up for each game to make it cost effective to run at reasonable prices.
