Sporting Memories this February with Trevor Massey

Words Derek Fairclough

SPORTING Memories returns to the J. Davidson Stadium on Tuesday, February 13, connecting the local community through their love of sports, in association with Altrincham FC Community Sports.

February's session, run by Brian Birtles from the club's Community Sports section, is from 1:30-3pm and will feature former Premier League official Trevor Massey, who will be the special guest speaker in attendance.

The session will also feature Alty memorabilia from the National Football Museum, with individuals encouraged to bring and showcase any of their favourite memorabilia from the club, allowing you to share your memories about your favourite Altrincham Football Club players and moments from the past.

Sporting Memories is a charity and social enterprise that helps older people to reminisce, replay and reconnect through the power of sport and physical activity.

Aiming to reduce isolation and improve both mental and physical wellbeing, the Sporting Memories sessions are dementia friendly and provide a space for people
aged 50-plus to chat and socialise with other people in their community, whilst soaking up the refreshments that are available.

We hope to see you there.
