Altrincham increased their firepower in August 2022 by snapping up free-scoring forward Zak Goodson from Ilkeston Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year old arrived at The J.Davidson Stadium with a burgeoning reputation that was further underpinned during Ilkeston’s title-winning campaign in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One Midlands 21/22 season.

Zak came through the Academy at Derby County and quickly made his mark at Long Eaton United, with 16 goals in 23 appearances, and Basford United, where he maintained a similar scoring ratio and notched their only goal in an FA Trophy defeat by Chesterfield in December, 2018.
